Local Information
Reading is approximately 30 miles west of London, with Oxford, one of the country's top University towns, also only about 30 miles to the north west. The town is suitably placed for easy and direct access to the major cities and airports with road and rail links to London, Heathrow Airport and Gatwick Airport.

The town itself has a vibrant culture with a lively centre, with excellent restaurants, public houses and also a major shopping complex, the Oracle.
A centre for tourists Reading also boasts attractions such as Forbury Gardens and the Abbey Ruins, the Reading Museum, the Kennet & Avon Canal and the River Thames. Other attractions include Reading Football Club and London Irish Rugby Club, who both play at the wonderful Madejski Stadium.
It also only takes just over 20 minutes to get to London by train from Reading, so you can easily get to visit other famous tourist attractions in the capital.
Reading has a great industrial history and used to be famous for beer, biscuits, bacon and seed production; but this has now given way to a thriving computer industry with Microsoft, Hewlett Packard, Dell and Oracle all located in the Town.
Reading really does have something for everyone!
