How Do I Apply For My Visa
(Applicants Still Living Abroad)

Make an appointment with the British High Commission and take the following documents to your appointment:

  • Passport
  • Letter of enrolment
  • The prospectus and course details
  • Documents from your sponsor and theirs and your bank statement
  • Account details

What Happens If My Visa Is Refused?

You may have the right to appeal and this must be done within the given time.

Refund Of Tuition Fees

  • In the event of a visa being refused the full fee will be refundable less £70.00 and if appropriate less the banks processing fee providing the student has not commenced studying and is not in the UK and providing the original Visa Refusal Notice and all original documents are provided. The visa refund process takes a minimum of 28 working days, approximately 6 weeks.
  • It is a condition that all original documents, original Visa Refusal Notice and receipts are returned to the college and without these documents NO REFUND can be processed.
  • The visa refusal must be for the relevant course date.
  • For overseas Students applying for Visa's in the United Kingdom or students that do not have to apply for Visa's in the United Kingdom or have a current Visa and have paid fees whether they have commenced studies or are waiting to commence studies there is a policy of absolutely NO REFUND whatever the exceptional circumstances.

Accommodation

Host Family Accommodation

Impact International College can arrange host family accommodation for you on a short-term basis hosted by hospitable host families.

Single occupied room costs £120 per week with all bills, breakfast and an evening meal included.

To book your host family accommodation a deposit of £120 MUST be paid, which will be used towards your week's rent. Please also supply the exact date of your arrival and length of stay.

No refund of deposit will be given in the event of a cancellation.

Short Term Accommodation

We recommend that for short-term accommodation you arrange this with a friend or known family within 20 miles of Reading while you look for more permanent accommodation.

Long Term Accommodation

There are a few choices, which our students take:

  • House share with a friend
  • Rent a bed sit
  • Own accommodation

Visa Renewals

We can put you in touch with immigration counselors who will advise on your application for an extension to remain in the United Kingdom but, as we are NOT lawyers, we can't offer any Immigration advice.

I.T. Timetables

Students have the option to chose to study their 15 hours a week over 5 days a week, 3 days a week or 2 days a week. It is very important that students consider the scheduled timetable of their chosen course/module when deciding upon this option.

Regulations

  • During tem time you must attend classes daily Monday- Friday for a minimum of 15 hours per week (excluding breaks) and tuition times will be set as per your timetable to commence between 9am-3pm.
  • You must attend a minimum of 85% of classes. Reasons for absence must be recorded on our computerised attendance and course tracking system and must be backed up with a doctor's certificate where applicable.
  • Please observe your timetable, as persistent lateness will not be tolerated.
  • Persistent non-attendance may result in you being dismissed and the Home Office being informed.
  • Our fees must be paid on or by the given date, or suspension may result.

Entry Requirements

All students must be 18 or over when they commence the course.
