ACCA Professional course using BPP learning software

Impact International College is now offering ACCA Professional Years 1 and 2 as full-time courses.  Learning is via BPP Learning Media software, which offers the complete range of interactive learning materials plus a dedicated exam preparation course.  The interactive course gives immediate feedback to the tutor and the student on the results obtained.  Using this software, our current pass rate on the ACCA unit is approximately 75-80%.

For any student wanting a professional career as a qualified accountant, this course is ideal - you can start during any term and learn at your own pace.  The class is always supported by a qualified tutor.

Teaming Up with Impact International College – The ACCA Journey

Introduction :

Impact International College, is an international college catering to students from over seventy countries worldwide with a comprehensive range of courses to develop your education and career. Impact International College is an ideal place for international students to study in the heart of the South of England, UK.

The Challenge  :  To source a comprehensive range of tailor made learning resources for the ACCA Syllabus

Impact International College is a forward thinking college that was keen to adopt a range of different learning styles for their ACCA students.  BPP Learning Media joined forces with the college in providing their students with a complete range of study materials on the ACCA programme.

The Solution : To adopt BPP Learning Media’s suite of ACCA study materials

As they say BPP Learning Media fitted the bill with our diverse product offering and second to none mixture of teaching concepts. This included the adoption of our exam preparation product i-Pass in tandem with the interactive learning materials i-Learn, which were considered second to none in their syllabus coverage and interactive components. Furthermore, with our support materials in the form of student texts the college was provided with a “one stop” learning solution. It has to be said that the greatest benefit of all was the Reporter function within the i-Learn software. This provided tutors with valuable student reporting facilities and in turn provided the students with immediate feedback on their progress. This greatly motivated the students at Impact College and together with i-Pass presented students with an excellent exam preparation tool.

Over the last few months Darren Halliday, College Manager has steadily drip fed in the number of new ACCA papers )both i-Learn and i-pass) and has now fully embedded the software into the college’s teaching programme.

Darren comments: “i-Learn is highly motivating for students as they can immediately gain feedback on their progress. The interactive CD-ROMS are comprehensive in their coverage of the ACCA syllabus and fit in neatly with the BPP Learning Media study texts. The materials are second to none and students love the variety of learning solutions we can offer”.

Features & Benefits for Reporter

The reporting mechanism was heralded the greatest benefit offering a whole range of important recording student tracking information.

Benefits to Tutors

  • Password protected
  • Records critical data
  • Student Name
  • Student ID
  • Course Name

Information Recorded

  • Lists all module contents for each paper
  • Records the status of each module
  • - Not started
  • - Started
  • - Completed
  • Records the date the student studies each module
  • Records the time the student spends on each module
  • Records each students password

Interactive Questions

  • Records the number of interactions attempted by the student
  • Records the percentage the student got correct
  • Data can be exported into an Excel spreadsheet for further manipulation

The Results : Great exam results meaning both happy students & tutors

Darren further comments “The software met with all our criteria in creating a flexible learning environment. We were able to create tailor made learning programs that suited individuals with varying learning abilities. This in turn enabled the college to offer more flexibility on timetable and start dates. Thanks to the popularity of BPP Learning Media’s resources with students, tutors and administrators our current pass rate on the ACCA unit is approximately 75-80%.  The software is an excellent blend of interactivity, testing and tuition supported with student tracking. The software has exceeded our expectations! Let’s see more of the same”.
